One Church donates gift cards to foster teens

A multisite congregation in Columbus made sure that every Ohio teen in foster care felt loved and valued this holiday season.

One Church, which has campuses in Gahanna and Columbus, teamed up with children services agencies across the state to make sure that every teen in foster care received something for Christmas.

The church held a gift card donation drive from November 7 through December 13, 2020 to help 5,300 foster teens. There were 34 teens in the care of Richland County Children Services who received gift cards.

The idea for the gift card donation stemmed from a meeting with Franklin County Children Services in 2019. The gift cards are for $25 each for fast food restaurants and retail stores.

One Church donated $50 in gift cards to each teen in Ohio foster care aged 12 and older.
