Social Workers: Leaders. Advocates. Champions
Social Work Month is in March and this year's theme is "Social Workers. Leaders. Advocates. Champions." The theme could not be more fitting. Social workers for generations have served as leaders, advocates and champions, helping individuals overcome challenges so they can live up to their full potential. Social workers also work tirelessly to improve our communities and society.
Child, family and school social workers and case workers stand up by protecting children who have been abused or neglected, helping children find new families through adoption, and ensuring young people reach their full academic and personal potential.
Richland County Children Services has a full-time staff of more than 100 caseworkers, social workers and support staff members. Their priority is to help families keep children safe from abuse and neglect. Caseworkers coordinate and provide a variety of services, drug and alcohol abuse treatment, parent training and coordination of family teams.
Richland County Children Services caseworkers are on the frontline making a difference and achieving change. Advocating for the rights of all children throughout Richland County is an important part of their work.
Richland County Children Services staff members believe that safe children today build strong families tomorrow.
